Zoe Gamble

Head of Projects

Zoe’s inspiration springs primarily from an interest in people, something that she has combined well with her considerable business acumen. She has developed some of the UK’s most prestigious historic properties and cultural venues, supporting them to become thriving successful businesses - financially viable and customer oriented.

She has significant experience of supporting positive change processes across a range of sectors; building effective teams and commercially successful businesses. Her strength has been in supporting organisations build sustainable futures through sound organisational development, strategic planning, business management and visionary leadership.

During her career, Zoe has played a central role in turning around a number of organisations, including during her five years of management at English Heritage, where her portfolio included oversight of 30 historic properties. Here she dramatically increased the organisations income and supported its growth to a million pound turnover. At Somerset House, she helped to transform a down-at-heel government office into one of London’s most important cultural venues. Its opening in 2000 saw visitor figures reach one million, thanks to the installation of Fountain Court, a destination restaurant and a contemporary cultural events programme, which featured the now popular London winter destination - Somerset House Ice Pavillion.

Returning to Scotland in 2004 as Director of Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site, Zoe led a notable modernisation programme, overseeing the reduction of operational costs, and replacing the annual £1.25m grant-giving programme with funding for charitable projects and the UK’s first repayable grants for private home owners.

Past colleagues have described Zoe as a ‘breath of fresh air’ – a commendation she lives up to and one which she brings to her consultancy clients.
