Marian Reid

Associate Consultant

Marian has over 22 year’s experience of working in housing and related social policy areas. She began her career in homelessness and advice services. She has a post-graduate diploma in housing studies and worked for many years in education and then a policy capacity for the Chartered Institute of Housing.

Published reports cover a wide range of topics including crime and anti-social behaviour, accreditation of private landlords, best value and regulation. Recent experience includes working as a professional adviser with the Care Commission and managing an audit and accreditation service.

Whilst with the Care Commission she worked on reviewing their inspection process and the development of self-assessment for care providers. This involved consultation with wide range of stakeholders, including service users.

Her consultancy works includes devising accommodation strategies for older people, the evaluation of an outcomes framework for supporting people services and research into the skills requirements of the housing sector. Marian is also an experienced event manager and facilitator.
