Alison joined the Avanté team in January 2006, having spent 12 years working in Scotland’s voluntary sector. As chief officer of a large intermediary organisation, Alison was closely involved in community planning, at local and at national levels, and represented the interests of the voluntary sector on a wide range of multi-agency partnerships. At the same time, Alison was responsible for a variety of externally-funded projects which provided practical support services to voluntary and community organisations ‘on the ground’.
Alison’s career has also included working in the statutory sector, further education, event management, and the media. Alison specialises in human resources and partnership working, and has considerable experience in project management, strategic planning, team building, and communications.
As a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development, Alison recognises that
